Original Australian pressing of ‘Conscience’ by Australian new wave / synth-pop group The Expression, released in 1985 on Mushroom Records. This was the band’s second and final studio album, following their 1983 debut, and captures the sleek, melodic mid-1980s sound that sat comfortably alongside other Australian acts of the era blending pop, rock and synthesiser-driven production.
Led by Tom Haran and Neville Dowling, The Expression built a reputation in the early 1980s with atmospheric pop songwriting and strong visual presentation, and ‘Conscience’ continued that direction with a more polished studio sound. The album includes tracks such as ‘Small Brave Land’, ‘Run The Hill’, ‘One More Time’, ‘The Story Goes On’, ‘The Light Of Day’ and ‘The Waiting Game’.
This copy appears to be an original Australian Mushroom pressing and would make a worthwhile addition for collectors of Australian 1980s new wave, synth-pop and Mushroom Records releases.
