Original Australian pressing of ‘Stink’ by Canadian blues-rock outfit McKenna Mendelson Mainline, released on Liberty Records. Formed in Toronto during the late 1960s, the band became one of Canada’s pioneering blues-rock groups, blending traditional blues influences with progressive rock and hard rock elements.
Led by vocalist and songwriter Joe Mendelson and guitarist Mike McKenna, the group developed a strong following through energetic live performances and distinctive songwriting. ‘Stink’ features tracks including ‘One Way Ticket’, ‘She’s Alright’, ‘Beltmaker’, ‘Mainline’, ‘Think I’m Losing My Marbles’, ‘Drive You’, ‘T.B. Blues’, ‘Better Watch Out’, ‘Bad Women’ and ‘Don’t Give Me No Goose For Christmas Grandma’.
Released as part of Liberty Records’ Australian ‘Free Form’ series, this album represents an interesting period piece from the early 1970s progressive blues-rock scene. Copies are increasingly difficult to locate, particularly Australian pressings.
