LOT 31 – 1988 Australian Bicentennial Commemorative 50 Cent Coin

Official Australian Bicentennial commemorative 50 cent coin struck in 1988 by the Royal Australian Mint to celebrate 200 years since European settlement in Australia. The reverse design by Mike Tracey depicts a square-rigged sailing vessel set against an early map of Australia, representing Australia’s maritime heritage and the arrival of the first European settlers. The obverse features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Raphael Maklouf. This example is presented in its original Royal Australian Mint information folder and remains in uncirculated mint condition packaging.
